Has anyone ever tried the "Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety" program? Is it bull? What were your experiences with it?

Hopeful replied: "Different things work for different people. I cannot say it does not work but I can say I was EXTREMELY disappointed and to the point of tears because at that time I was looking for anything and everything to help me and the program did not help me and I in essence wasted A LOT of money. I tried it back in 1996. Personally, therapy has helped me more than anything."

the crusader replied: "Yes, back in 1997 or around that time I tried it. Bottom line is: Don’t waste your time or money on this crap! You’re better off talking to your doctor and getting prescription medication that you need."

Sabine Г‰ replied: "I returned it before the 30-day trial was over and paid $14 for the return shipping. Not worth it, in my opinion.
For one thing, I found the CD’s to be very depressing. They were just recorded group sessions of people talking about how anxious and depressed they used to be. The things they said creeped me out.
Second, the workbook was just that- a workbook. You can get an "anxiety workbook" at most bookstores or about $20. "The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook" costs $13 on Amazon.
Third, you can make the affirmations cards yourself using small index cards.
And finally, the DVD/video of Lucinda going on and on about her wonderful program didn’t offer any information.
I think the entire package is around $500 and is not worth it,

And also, my anxiety was due to a physical problem, so this program would never have worked fore."

Midwest center for stress and anxiety, a scam/ripoff? I ordered the program from Lucinda Bassett just YESTERDAY to treat my stress and anxiety. I went on ripoff report.com and found a lot of complaints. I ordered it yesterday so I wanna cancel it before they ship it to me and it’s too late…and they rip me off .if it is a scam)

has anyone tried it ?is it a scam? do they not let you return it within the 30 days like they said they would?? do they charge more to your account? any complaints please tell me ..thanks.

Piper G replied: "I do not really know whether they will really return your money within 30-days. But since they stated it, they should follow their words. Frnakly speaking, you need to do further research on whether is it a scam. I’ve seen many anxiety-reducing products and most of them are being criticized as being a "scam" while others called it their life-saving product.

Anyway, here’s something for you to know:
Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called "St John’s Wort" – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

How can a business have 214 complaints in 36 months and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau? The Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety has 214 complaints. How is it possible that they have an A+ rating?

Shouldn’t A+ indicate a perfect record with no complaints?

Heather replied: "I’m not sure how they could have an A+ rating?"

Harley Drive replied: "good old fashioned corruption and bribery, you will probably find that the owner is on the BBB board or has close connections , never accept anything at face value"

Does anyone live in near Malibu, California I need some information about someone who just died? This is pretaining to the death of David Bassett, Lucinda Bassett’s husband. I just heard the news today, so sad!!!!I just was curious as to how he died.

Lucinda Bassett, is the founder of the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety, I went through her program a year ago. I’m sadden to hear of her husbands death, heartbreaking!

Angela replied: "I am sorry.
They did some very interesting helpful work for many."

fpc S replied: "That is really saddening. I just received her book From Panic To Power today and I really connected to her story and now to look her up and see that the man that helped her through the anxiety is gone.

If you need to go there and you have the means, I think you should go but not until you try to help your condition at home first. Try just reading her books and following her advice.
